2020 TRAX VS ENCORE: PERFORMANCE
Wexford, Pittsburgh, and Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, drivers deserve a reliable ride from Point A to Point B. The 2020 Trax and Encore deliver with their robust, shared 1.4L ECOTEC® 4-cylinder engine.
That engine can generate up to 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. In both SUVs, it mates with a 6-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifts and seamless power delivery. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard, but you can opt for available all-wheel drive (AWD) for more traction when you need it.
The Trax has an edge in fuel economy—up to an EPA-estimated 26 city/31 highway MPG. The Encore offers up to an EPA-estimated 25 city/30 highway MPG.
EXTERIOR STYLE: TWO CHIC CROSSOVERS
The Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore are made to be noticed on the streets. From the athletic hood lines to the unique signature lighting, both SUVs know how to make an entrance.
The Buick uses its signature winged grille to great effect here, and the LED daytime running lights throw every sculptural detail into sharp relief. The Chevy SUV, meanwhile, sports a strong street presence with that bold hexagonal grille and exterior colors like Black Cherry Metallic and Pacific Blue Metallic.
Only the Trax is available as a sporty Redline Edition, however. The Black-finish aluminum wheels with Red accents and Black bowtie emblems look sleek, especially with cool Silver Ice Metallic as a backdrop!
CHEVY TRAX VS BUICK ENCORE: SHARED TECHNOLOGY
The 2020 Trax and Encore share many of the same technology features. That Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system (and its Buick equivalent) come standard with smartphone integration. Use Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® to pair your phone with the touchscreen and use apps on the go.
These being sister brands, you’ll find the same available driver-assist features available across the two crossovers. While a rearview camera comes standard in both, options include:
- Forward Collision Alert
- Lane Departure Warning
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Side Blind Zone Alert
These features will boost your awareness on the roads, to help you stay out of harm’s way. Remember, they’re no substitute for your own attentiveness to your surroundings.
